Born and bred from sunny Geelong, Peter Brady has over 20 years of experience in IT with focus in account management and product marketing. He started his career as an area manager for Coca Cola Australia where he successfully achieved the highest percentage of 99.6% for Diet Coke distribution in the late 1980s. Prior to joining Kaspersky Lab, Brady was a national reseller channel manager at MYOB for eight years. One of his many significant milestones was winning the Overachievers Award, twice, during his time there. Brady was also previously national sales manager at PICA Australia for five years, and account manager at Dataflow from 1995 to 1999.
Kaspersky currently has 400 million users and 270,000 corporate clients and Peter aims to continue to mark the brand as Australia’s go to for protection against cyber criminals. He states his concerns, “With the increase of cyber criminals, cyber security is going to evolve in the most obscure venues in our day to day activities. Our biggest challenge is how most people don’t think that they can be hacked or harmed via the internet. They don’t realise we are living in a world with more creative and sophisticated ways to get attacked. I aim to create more awareness around this issue in Australia.”
Kaspersky Lab Australia won the ARN Vendor Specialist Award in 2014 and the Channel Choice Software Vendor 2015. However the only award that Peter wants to win is the recognition of Kaspersky’s peers. “There is no such thing as convincing people when selling them something. It’s all about maintaining and building good human relationships.”
Off duty, Peter is Assistant Team Manager for the North Shore Football Club in Geelong. The father of three also likes singing and does a flawless impersonation of Elvis Presley.
