Kaspersky Lab has been awarded by Virus Bulletin magazine once again. During the regular testing of security solutions Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows blocked 100% of malware and gave no false positives. The key feature of the tests conducted by Virus Bulletin in April 2013 was to use Windows XP operating system, more specifically – Professional Edition with Service Pack 3. Despite the fact that Microsoft has already released three new operating systems (including Windows 8), XP still enjoys considerable popularity. As the report says, according to various estimates, the number of computers running Windows XP is still about 15%-30% of the world’s total.

The data of Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) cloud service comprising 60 million users worldwide confirm that. 30% of KSN subscribers installed Windows XP, most of them use the version Professional XP. The Virus Bulletin publication on the subject, among other things, states that more developers are releasing new products for Windows 8, applying almost no effort to provide backward compatibility. As a result, under Windows XP SP 3 these programs can work, to put it mildly, not without faults and it is good if it is expressed only in problems with the interface. Kaspersky Lab’s corporate solution, on the contrary, was evaluated as a solid, “stable” product.

The total of 45 security solutions was tested, including Kaspersky Endpoint Security. Our product successfully identified all malicious programs in both On Demand mode, when a user manually selects a group of files to be scanned, and in On Access mode, when the program is required to detect and block malware within the groups of files being copied. During Reactive and Proactive testing Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 scored a high score as well – 93.1%. Consequently, Kaspersky Lab gets another VB100 certificate, and the Virus Bulletin report specifically highlights that Kaspersky Lab’s  business solutions have successfully passed all six tests last year.
