This recognition proves the excellent capabilities of Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity (KICS) for Nodes to protect Operational Technology (OT) environments against execution-based attacks under fully offline, post-breach conditions. Additionally, it affirms the product’s alignment with global expectations and standards for cybersecurity solutions designed to protect industrial companies.
The AV-Comparatives Operational Technology Certification Test evaluates whether security solutions can effectively prevent the execution of untrusted code in offline OT environments, particularly after a system breach. Taking part in this assessment, Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes (KICS for Nodes) demonstrated exceptional performance by successfully preventing all execution-based offline post-breach attack scenarios without a single False Positive generated.
The testing encompassed a range of challenging scenarios, including binaries with legitimate metadata, binaries with legitimate metadata combined with invalid or leaked certificates, DLL sideloading, backdoored binaries, and offline legitimate application updates, all of which were effectively handled by the product.
KICS for Nodes is a part of Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity, a native XDR Platform for industrial enterprises that is made and certified to protect OT and critical infrastructure equipment and networks from cyber-initiated threats. In addition to KICS for Nodes, which is aimed at endpoints of distributed control systems, this platform also features KICS for Networks, which monitors automation system network security.
“We recognized Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes for successfully preventing all malicious test scenarios in our evaluation while allowing legitimate update processes, demonstrating strong capabilities in protecting OT environments,” comments Andreas Clementi, CEO and founder of AV-Comparatives.
"Earning this certification underscores our commitment to providing top-tier security for the industry and motivates us to continually improve our product, ensuring even greater resilience and protection for industrial control systems worldwide," comments Andrey Strelkov, Head of Industrial Cybersecurity at Kaspersky.
