Eugene Kaspersky To Host Cybercrime Forum At Infosecurity Europe 2009

24 March 2009

28th to 30th April 2009; Earls Court, London; Stand G40; Come and meet the Co-Founder & CEO of Kaspersky Lab

Kaspersky Lab has announced that Co-Founder & CEO, Eugene Kaspersky, will be hosting a Cybercrime Forum at Infosecurity Europe 2009. On stand G40, Kaspersky Lab will be demonstrating its full range of endpoint protection solutions for corporate IT networks including Kaspersky Open Space Security, the new Kaspersky Mobile Security Enterprise Edition and its range of hosted security services.

The new Kaspersky Mobile Security Enterprise Edition protects corporate users of smartphones from Cybercrime, whilst ensuring that confidential business information, as well as personal data on lost or stolen devices is secured from data theft. The same sophisticated Kaspersky Lab technology is currently being used by Barclays, enabling them to become the first UK bank to offer its online banking customers free secure mobile banking.

Visitors to stand G40 will also learn how they can respond to boardroom demands to reduce operational costs, without compromising enterprise security. The range of Kaspersky Hosted Security Services filter out Crimeware programs and other undesirable content ‘in the cloud’, so they never even touch the company’s network, ensuring a continually clean data stream into the company. Malcolm Tuck, Managing Director of UK & Ireland Operations at Kaspersky Lab comments: “Security as a service is perfect for small, medium and large businesses. It enables enterprises of all sizes to afford the level of protection expected within every organisation.”

Infosecurity Europe 2009 will be the venue for the launch of Kaspersky Lab’s major new Cybercrime campaign. Tuck explains: “The threat of Crimeware continues to grow. Last year Kaspersky Lab detected 23 million threats and there are no signs of this abating. Cybercriminal gangs are taking advantage of the uncertain economic climate and are actively courting highly skilled programmers, with the temptation to earn significant amounts of money. The knock-on effect is an increase in both volume and quality of Crimeware being circulated. At Infosecurity Europe 2009 Kaspersky Lab will unveil its Cybercrime campaign alongside its range of solutions and services that protect IT systems, keeping them one step ahead of the Cybercriminals.”

As part of the campaign launch, Kaspersky Lab will be running a technical track entitled The Botnet Business, taking place at 11.20am on 28th April, as well as a Cybercrime forum, hosted by the Co-Founder and CEO of Kaspersky Lab, Eugene Kaspersky, at 2pm on 29th April. To pre-register for the forum please visit: www.kaspersky-labs.co.uk/cybercrime.

Also taking place on Tuesday 28th April are the prestigious SC Magazine Awards 2009 for which Kaspersky Open Space Security has been short-listed for best Anti-malware Solution, Best SME Security Solution and Security Product of the Year.
